Value Proposition

As a self-motivated, ambitious individual I offer a contagious work ethic that would make me a valuable asset to your organization. I have obtained excellent analytical skills in both my academic, and professional career. Before beginning tasks, I am able to scrutinize other’s ideas as well as my own to determine the best way to solve a problem. I possess a certain level of intellectual curiosity that drives me to search for reasons and causes. My ability to think about all the factors affecting a situation sets me apart from my peers. This is what I am able to do for your organization.

An example of this is when I attended the Undergraduate Research Conference at UNH, the largest undergraduate university research conference in the country. Under the sponsorship of my Law and Economics professor, I was afforded the opportunity to do extensive research into a civil court case and analyze the efficiency of outcomes from an economics perspective. I presented to various professors, community members, and even the dean of the Whittemore School of Business and Economics. Using game theory, I showed what the possible outcomes for the case were, and what each outcome would have meant for the economy. By illustrating the inefficient outcomes, I proved the importance of economic theory in the legal decision-making process. I determined the real outcome of the case that I researched was efficient. Although the case I chose happened to be efficient, the legal process is very cumbersome. There is evidence suggesting that economists getting more involved in the legal process could produce positive results.

  1. You are already successful in your own right. You are carrying a full course load plus doing volunteer work, the URC, and other community-related activates, that’s impressive.

The best way to find a job is to connect with people in the industry or company that you’re interested in working for. Find out what advice they have for you. Also, meet people through industry associations and volunteer on a relevant committee.

You’re leveraging social media and you get marketing. Way to go!

This is a great start. Keep doing a fantastic job and you’ll find yourself with a great company full-time before you know it.

PS: I'm planning on attending the URC events, hope to see you there!
